Whippet Mania

The whippet mania is a persistent and difficult to cure disease, you know you are affected when...

Once the virus gets hold of a patient it is almost impossible to eliminate it completely from the system.

The symptoms of whippet mania can persist for decades and often they can never be completely cured.

The good news is that in most cases this virus allows the host an almost normal life.

To lead a regular life the patient requires the vicinity of at least one whippet but it is well known from clinical cases, that the affected person  improves dramatically with a higher number of whippets in the household.

To find out if you already succumbed to the contagion you can do a simple and quick check up in the comfort of your home.

Read carefully all the statements below and if you find more than half of them to be true, we are afraid that you have already contracted the disease.

In the unfortunate event you discover that you are already infected... well, there isn't much you can do, just relax and enjoy your dogs!

You are affected by whippet mania when...

- you own far more hound collars than dogs

- you buy yogurt just to let your whippet lick clean the container

- you think that a nap without your dog is not relaxing

- a wall in the living room is entirely dedicated to sighthounds prints and pictures

- despite all your efforts to paint flowers and landscapes, you only enjoy painting whippet

- you don't feel satisfied unless you've had a good daily dog walk with your hound

- you buy a sewing machine just to make your own dog beds, martingale collars and whippet dog coats

- you were able to convince your spouse that the family is not complete without at least one whippet (and possibly more than one...)

- you put on your whippet a dog coat on cold days but you may forget to wear your own

- your clothes are peppered with suspiciously short hair

- you love to stick whippet address labels to your letters

- you have conversations with your whippets and you are convinced that they give you  the best replies

- you remember the names of whippets you encounter at meetings and during walks but you don't not necessarily remember their owners' name

- you get excited during a museum visit for the small whippet picture at the far left corner of a famous painting

- you built a whippet webpage and loved doing it!
