Whippet Dog Photo Contest: Spencer
by Karen Beard
I lost my greyhound to kidney disease in July, the same week he died I saw a litter of whippet puppies going into the vets office.
The one that caught my eye was a blue and white parti. I cried myself to sleep every night until my husband told me to "go get a sighthound".
I remembered that little guy, but just knew he had been sold, much to my surprise he had not been sold. I believe that puppy was meant to be, as he literally saved us all.
We went from sad to happy and laughing again. Spencer is adored and loved by all the meets him. His daily walks include great amazement in the deer, squirrels and birds he sees.
The two of us connected and he is definitely my boy. He plays hard, and sleeps (to our delight) harder. This is my first whippet and he has been one of the very best puppies I have ever owned.
Its amazing how a puppy can save you, and I'm so glad we found each other.
