Whippet Dog Stories: If the Shoe Fits...

We found our whippet in an unusual way.
People would tell me all the time "never get a dog from a pet store" so I researched and planned till I picked a reputable breeder for "something fluffy" for my dog lover daughter.

We talked and decided on a reliable golden retriever as a couple would decide on a reliable Toyota. We were comfortable with our decision till the day we went shopping for a computer for my daughters.

There was a pet store in the mall full of everything cute and fluffy but there was a star in that store. An adorable golden retriever playing with an equally beautiful golden lab.

I looked around and to my surprise, my 7 year old was glued to a cage with a tiny whippet. She stared at him and he stared at her back motionless.

I came up to my daughter and asked her if she wants to see the other dogs but she said GADGET was the one for her. I said no...but when the employee took him out from the cage he run straight to Kate climbing up her leg till she picked him up.

He licked her face full of tears now and barked at anybody who wanted to take him back. They sat on the floor together like they knew each other forever.

We didn't buy a computer that night but my daughter who is 9 now gained a best friend. They have this magical connection that seemed to cure her severe anxiety and a need for a computer...
