Charlie, my Love

by Brittany
(Papakura, Aulkland NZ)

Things in this world are just the beginning when you feel like the end of the world is coming.

You nudged me and smiled as if you were trying to cheer me up, you put your paw upon my cheek and I kissed you on the nose with a smile and a giggle, then, later on, you had to go and I kissed you again and again.

I didn't want to let go but then I heard your voice saying "I love you but I have to go".

You'll see me soon and we'll walk over the rainbow side-by side. I'll miss you forever, so don't be sad, I'll come again.

You touched my heart and I cried out "don't go!" but it was too late and you were gone.
