Naya"s First Time Meeting the Ocean

The day we got Naya, or first dog, it was snowing with about 4 inches already on the ground in Indiana.
My wife and I were raised in Florida, so the snow is not our natural habitat.
After spending some time with our new puppy we realized she did not like the snow either.
We had no problem with this, we were hoping she would like the beach.
Well, this picture shows her curiosity and hesitancy with the water.
Naya is doing better now as I can get her to cross streams about 3 inches deep.

I have an 8 year old rescue whippet. When the other dogs come to the lake (mostly retrivers) to visit us I throw balls or sticks for them. Abby must be the Queen of attention so she often out swims the retrivers or waits for them to come back to shore to steal the stick. Then she turns on the after burners and runs away with it.
