Whippet Mix: Marley

by Sydney
(California)

We adopted Marley (whippet pitbull mix) from the animal shelter. We learned he was born into and rescued from the largest dog fight bust in the USA. Marley is 1 year and 3 months old and before we adopted him, he never had a home.

He was rescued from the dog fights when he was 2 months old and lived in the shelter since then. Marley had also lived in the shelter longer than any other dog.

He is the best dog we could ever ask for. He is a cuddler and is actually laying in my lap right now. He loves to play fetch and he is his happiest outside running around but also loves being a couch potato.

He has become a part of the family and I love him so much and cannot imagine my life without him. The moment I saw him I fell in love with him and I thank God everyday for blessing me with this amazing companion.

I think we rescued Marley's litter-mate!
by: Anonymous

OK, so given the size of that fighting ring bust, perhaps not, but we rescued a dog that was the very same age when rescued from those deplorable conditions who is a Pit/Whippet mix.

She is the love of our lives! Initially she had super "stranger danger" and was on prozac when we got her and for quite a few months afterward.

But now is med-free, lovingly welcoming any and all visitors to the house, lives for her ball during the day and a spare lap during the eves.

Some days, according to her mood, we'll refer to her as either a "whip-bull" or a "pippit". :)

Glad things worked out well also for Marley!
