Whippet Dog of the Day: Misty Blue
by Helen Hunter

My husband saw his first whippet at the age of 10. From that day, as a child, he would dream every night that his mum would buy him a whippet and he would wake up to find it at the end of his bed.
This never happened, but now at the age of 43 he finally has got his whippet! He also just happened to bump into the man who first introduced him to this breed, at Christmas time.
He had not seen him since that time when he was ten. What a surreal meeting and how proud was Jon to introduce the man to the lovely misty blue.
I asked Jon if I could have a black labrador for my birthday, but he went on and on about whippets. He took me to one, and we have not looked back since.
I am overwhelmed with her gentleness, the love that she shows and gives to our 3 young children. We love taking her to the fields and letting her just run.
She loves the company of other dogs, loves to play and my goodness me, does she fetch that ball! She's back before the blink of an eye ready for another throw.
She loves my bin!!!!! And chewing my rug!!But mostly she loves to just cuddle up and laze on our sofa or laps. We like to take her everywhere with us. A fully fledged member of the family.. At six months, I can 't remember a life without her .
