Scottish Deerhound This gentle and dignified breed was favorite of the lords of Scotland and made immortal in the verses of Sir Walter Scott. Recently the deerhound found renewed fame in the movie Out of Africa as Karen Blixen’s pet. Once wolf hunters and status symbol of the Russian nobility, the borzoi now fills magnificently his role of devoted pet and fearless hunter.
