Rome the Dog

by Larry Newby
(Slidell,Louisiana)

There once was a dog named Rome
Who likes to eat bones
He is always a jolly fellow
But sometimes he’s mellow
He’s always hiding in different places
But never leaves any traces

Rome enjoys playing games
But he’ll never come when you call his name
Rome is always on the couch
When you kick him off he might grouch
He always steals food
That is pretty rude
