His nose in the air as he runs with the dugs
a handsome wee guy with his big flapping lugs
his eyes looking sad which betrays his demeanor,
a happier dog without a big beamer.
He chases a rabbit but never can catch it,
his legs are too short and his pace canny match it,
a cocker he be and a loyal friend indeed,
when picking the pup he was the runt o' the breed.
So loving and giving and right to the end,
I truly can say that I've lost my best friend.
