Non Shedding Dog Breeds

Alas, totally non shedding dog breeds are just a myth. Any dog hair is bound to drop off sooner or later.

However, whippets are low maintenance dogs worth investigating if you are in the process of selecting a dog breed compatible with a no fuss life style.

As unashamedly biased whippet fans, we find that on top many other charms, this breed offers the advantage of shedding very little. Whippets need no clipping and baths are a monthly easy routine thanks to their short coat.

Only in spring, like any other furry creature, whippets will let go of their hairs with wild abandon, but even then the hairs are short and easy to pick up as any long haired dog owner can attest.

I love whippets because I don't like hoovering! I wonder if whippet coat hair drops at any time. Even if you tug it, it won't come off!

Nevertheless, for sheer fairness we’ll provide below a list of breeds that by common consensus are considered no shed dog breeds.

Many of them though have long hair, might need frequent trimming, stripping and bathing and certainly don’t have that special whippet allure.
