Art Nouveau is an international art movement that especially influenced the decorative arts at the end of the 20th century, from the 1890 until the first years of 1900.Art Nouveau means “new art” in French. This style is also known as Liberty from the London department store that popularized it. The work of Alphonse Mucha, William Morris and Arthur Mackmurdo greatly influenced this artistic movement. The Art Nouveau style is characterized by organic forms and stylized, sinuous lines. This style strongly influenced the arts of that period especially architecture, decoration, posters and labels that are real work of art and reflect the aesthetics of that period. Greyhounds became a favorite artistic subject maybe for their elegance and style that perfectly matched the taste of the times. The Art Deco style, became fashionable in the twenties until after World War II.This style also influenced all the arts especially architecture and decoration.
