(Elk Mound WI, USA)
I am telling of how a bad behavior turned into a trick. It all started when I saw a sign for a trick show, and thought it would be fun to do something.
I was really stumped on what to do though so I called my friend Martha to ask if she had any ideas. She thought that maybe I should make Mandy (my whippet) stand on her hind legs and pray, but I thought that that would be to hard for Mandy's body structure, so I thought... and thought.... and thought..... "I'VE GOT IT!" I screamed one day when we were on vacation. "Got what?" asked my mom, rather annoyed at me for screaming.
"An idea of what Mandy's trick will be." So I rushed to grab the phone and called Martha.
I told her that me and Mandy would be boxing, cause you see Mandy has this bad habit of jumping on people. So finally the day of the trick show arrived.
I had Mandy all decked out in a red bandana around her neck and little boxing gloves on her front paws. I was dressed up as a boxer too.
I can't remember completely everything but I think that I was the 3rd person to perform a trick with there dog.
It came to judging time and I won second place. I remember one little boy shouting to me and telling me he would vote for me. Mandy had done exactly what I told her too and she even shook hands with me at the end.
